  • How much does Assisted Living at Scenic Shores cost per month?

    Your monthly rent depends on the custom-tailored, à la carte service packages and levels you require. You only pay for the assistance you need, month-by-month. Please ask us for details about all of our service options. Simply call us at 218-834-0849 for more information.

    Because our residents’ needs change from month to month, the amount of on-site staff varies to accommodate those needs.

  • Will my insurance pay for my stay?

    Long-term care insurance should cover at least a portion of the monthly fee at Scenic Shores. All insurance plans are different. If you have long-term care insurance, please refer to the specific benefits of your plan. If you have any questions, contact your insurance agent or call us at 218-834-0849 for assistance.

  • What should I bring?

    Since you decorate your own private residence here, you decide what to bring! Furniture, dishes, cookware, bedding, towels, clothing, toiletries, heirlooms, art—whatever you find useful or beautiful!

    No, you must provide your own phone and arrange for your own phone service.

  • Are pets allowed?

    Pets are not permitted to live here, but we love when they visit! Dogs and cats are required to have their current shots and be kept on a leash.

  • Do you accept Veterans benefits?

    The Scenic Shores Care Center is contracted with the Veteran’s Administration (VA) to provide skilled nursing care. But VA benefits don’t cover rent, so our Assisted Living residences do not accept Veteran’s benefits.

  • How do get in to Scenic Shores assisted living?

    The application process to become a resident of Ecumen Scenic Shores includes the successful completion of a Financial Analysis and a Nursing Assessment. Just start by contacting us! Simply call us at 218-834-0849 for assistance.

  • Can my health care provider come here to treat me?

    No, outside health care providers are not authorized to deliver care to Assisted Living residents at Scenic Shores. However, if you have transportation, you may go off-site to receive care. We’re happy to help you coordinate transportation.

  • What is included in my monthly rent?

    All utilities except apartment air conditioning; one home-cooked noon meal daily; basic cable television service; weekly housekeeping; two loads of laundry per week; daily comfort checks; monthly vital sign monitoring; transportation coordination; 24-hour staff on-site; and emergency call system.

  • What types of activities do you have?

    Our most popular activities include bingo, paddle ball, worship services, drum circles, therapy dog visits, card games and puzzles, watercolor painting, crafting, manicures and hand massages, live entertainment, movie nights, afternoon coffee socials, karaoke, and evening cocktails. With three Life Enrichment Specialists on staff, there is truly never a dull moment here.

  • Do you provide transportation to appointments and shopping?

    No, we don’t provide transportation. But we will help coordinate transportation for you through our community partners.

  • How much does the Care Center at Scenic Shores cost per month?

    Monthly rent depends on how much skilled nursing or rehabilitative care is needed. You only pay for the assistance you need, month-by-month. Please ask us for details about all of our services. Simply call us at 218-834-0849 for more information.

  • Will my insurance pay for my stay?

    Insurance covers the cost of your stay in our Care Center if you are admitted after a hospital stay of at least three days and are receiving physical, occupational and/or speech therapy. If you meet these requirements, you may be covered at 100% for the first 20 days. After the first 20 days, there is a copay. Most insurance companies will cover the copay, potentially covering up to 100 days of skilled nursing care.

  • What should I bring for my stay in the Care Center?

    Bring with you at least seven complete changes of clothes, and give them to staff for labeling. We supply you with personal care items such as shampoo, soap, deodorant, and a comb or brush, and furnishings that include bedding, dressers and a chair. Please bring anything else you would enjoy, such as a TV, radio, laptop computer, iPad, cell phone, and décor items such as family pictures, comforter and accent pillows, lamp, favorite chair or additional dresser.

  • Do you provide a phone?

    No, you must provide your own personal telephone and arrange for your own service. However, you are welcome to use the telephone at the nursing station.

  • What is the Care Center’s admissions process?

    Admission is as simple as reviewing the person’s medical records from their personal physician or recent hospitalization, and confirming that we have availability at our Care Center.

  • Can my health care provider come to the Care Center to treat me?

    Only health care providers from Lake View Clinic are authorized to provide care on-site at our Care Center. Physicians from Lake View Clinic provide routine, specialized, and preventive care to our residents.

    Safety always comes first, but yes, we encourage you to live your life your way—even if you require a family or staff escort.

    Private or semi-private, five-star Medicare-certified accommodations; 24-hour skilled nursing care; three delicious and nutritious chef-prepared meals daily; snacks; use of indoor and outdoor common areas for socializing with family and friends; pastoral care; physical, occupational and/or speech therapy; preventive care; social worker support services; housekeeping, laundry and linen change weekly; all utilities except telephone; Wi-Fi; individually customized Live 2 B Healthy® programs; Life Enrichment activities, recreation and entertainment to maintain wellness; bathing assistance; dressing/grooming assistance; personal hygiene assistance; transfer assistance; escorts to meals and activities; medication management and administration; comfort checks; and more!

  • I have insurance. Why won’t it pay for my stay there?

    Medicare does not provide long-term care coverage. If you have other long-term care insurance coverage or questions, or would like to know more about financial aid eligibility through Medicaid, just call us for guidance at 218-834-0849.
